The Planet

It's Apemania!

Discover these collectibles from the golden age of Apes.

When the original Planet of the Apes was released in 1968, producers couldn’t have guessed how popular their mold-breaking film would become. The film and its four sequels enjoyed box office success and a new wave of TV and comic book adaptations, complete with film-inspired merchandise and collectibles fans couldn’t get enough of. These collectibles were so popular that they became the precedent for the merchandise campaigns of other hugely successful franchises, like Star Wars and Indiana Jones. Safe to say, the 1970s and 80s had plunged into “Apemania.”
